You’ll gain hands-on experience on a variety of projects, solutions, and technologies. You’ll also be exposed to the many different positions that make up an electrical team, from Union technicians to project management, and more.
Elcor utilizes the latest and most innovative technologies to execute our projects, including:
- Accubid/ChangeOrder (estimating)
- Clearstory (change order tracking)
- OpenSpace AI (virtual job site walkthrough)
- Navisworks (3D design review)
- Bluebeam (markups and takeoffs)
- Vista by Viewpoint (ERP, job costs)
Weekly tasks will vary as you gain experience, but over the course of your internship, you can expect to learn about:
- Project estimating and take-offs
- Job walks and job site meetings
- Coordinating material orders and deliveries
- Tracking project costs
- Coordinating with clients and vendors
- Reviewing project drawings, specs, and material lead times
- Monitoring project schedules and progress
An internship is the starting point for learning about the electrical contracting industry. You’ll gain insights and experience that can provide opportunities to start your career at the entry level, and advance to more senior positions such as Project Engineer, Project Manager, Senior Project Manager, and Project Executive.
